The holidays are upon us. So we have compiled a list of our favorite games for the month of November!
I love Wingspan. If you’re looking for a mid-level density game for 1-4 players with strong replayability and striking visuals this is the game for you. Play your birds right and each turn can build on the last as you chain bird effects to keep the points coming in all game long. The rule complexity can be a little tricky, but that’s what Youtube videos are for!
We’ve played Fallout Shelter: the Board Game five times in the last month and I love it! Not only does it capture the look and feel of the classic Fallout Shelter video game, but it’s also a pretty great worker-placement game. The goal of Fallout Shelter: the Board Game is to end up with the most Happiness at the end of the game. You are in the fallout shelter with other dwellers and you’re vying to become the Vault Overseer by building new rooms, providing food, water and power to the other dwellers so that they are Happy. I like to play it for a few reasons. It’s easy to set up, the art is fun, it was easy to learn, I LOVE that the goal is to have the Happiest Dwellers, and I usually win 🙂
I think that Qwirkle is perfect for family gatherings. It has a similar feel to Dominoes. The rules are very easy to pick up, making this a great game for people who are looking for a game you can start playing virtually right away – extremely minimal time reading instructions and placing pieces. The pieces are made out of wood, which I always love to see in any board game. Wood just makes any game seem like it is good quality.
