No real progress, but played an amazing game!

Looks like I’m not going to get the space I was after.  Safeway has to sign off before I will sign the lease and they haven’t done it in all this time.  Apparently they have as long as they want.  Shocking, but true.  So, we’re looking for a new place.  My dreams of having the store up and running before the holidays are long gone, but we’re still moving forward.  There are a few interesting leads out there.

Retail space in West Seattle is really tight.  I mean – there’s practically nothing out there!

On a brighter front, I am moving ahead with the website and may even open the online store before the brick and mortar store.  I can sell used games from there just to have something happening.  Not sure about new games, but I’m looking into it.  I should have something up and going very soon.  I’ll keep you posted.

This weekend we did two rounds of Tzolk’in: the Mayan Calendar.  If you haven’t played it, you must.  The theme is great, the bits good, the graphics amazing and the game play… wow.  It’s a worker placement game with so much going on.  You literally have to plan pretty far ahead and be mindful of time passing.  So many potential strategies to success.  The gears spinning your workers around to different potential actions each round is something I haven’t seen before.  I’m totally hooked and can’t wait to play again.  It might possibly replace my obsession with Arkham Horror.  Might… I said might.
