Introducing Keyforge – Pre-launch Event Nov 10!

by: on October 12, 2018  |

Keyforge is a whole new type of card game from our friends at Fantasy Flight Games.  It’s a 2-player card game that is neither collectible nor living.  Each deck ($9.99 msrp) is unique using a combination of 3 of the 7 factions (Houses of the Crucible) and a selection of the many cards to create a one-of-a-kind deck.  Each deck has unique art generated just for it on the back of the cards!!

And, to top it all off, it’s designed by the legendary Richard Garfield (Magic: the Gathering, Android Netrunner, King of Tokyo to name only a few)!!  My head is exploding, Meeps!

Players become Archons who must collect Æmber to be the first to Forge three keys to win all while crushing their opponents. There are no costs to play cards, but only one fraction can be played per turn.

We’re pretty excited about the game!  We got our demo decks today so we can learn to play it and talk more fluently about it.  But, the idea is so cool that it has to be good!

Pre-launch Event 11/10

We’ll be running a pre-launch event here at Meeples Games on 11/10.  We’ll have a kit with swag.  More details to come!

KeyForge

“Don’t try to change the Crucible to fit your needs. Let it change you.”

Enter a world where anything is possible in KeyForge! In the center of the universe hangs the Crucible, an artificial world built from the pieces of countless planets. Here, in the world’s first Unique Deck Game, created by legendary designer Richard Garfield, two players step into the roles of mighty Archons, racing to forge keys that unlock the Crucible’s hidden Vaults.

Leading their diverse teams, filled with followers from three of the Crucible’s great Houses, the Archons must gather Æmber, stave off their opponent’s progress, and ultimately be the first to open a Vault and gain its incredible knowledge. With a vast array of creatures, artifacts, and abilities and over 104 quadrillion possible decks, every deck is completely one-of-a-kind, and no two battles will ever be the same!

A World of Infinite Possibilities

In KeyForge, you become an Archon, one of the only native inhabitants of the Crucible. This world was built for your kind by the mischievous and enigmatic Architects, who cobbled together pieces of every planet in the galaxy, bringing with them an eclectic variety of creatures, vegetation, cultures, and technology from across the stars!

New Library Game – Flatline!

by: on July 24, 2017  |

We love the game Fuse which is currently in our Game Library.  It’s fast, fun and cooperative.  Flatline is the next cooperative game from Renegade Game Studios.  In Flatline, you are futuristic emergency room docs with patients to treat.  The power is failing, you have a very short time to treat everyone before the power goes out!  No pressure!!

Flatline is new to our game library and has a whopping 7.7 rating on boardgamegeek.com

Did I mention the cool dice?  Lots and lots of cool dice!

Check out Santorini – New to our Library

by: on January 27, 2017  |

Santorini is a new game from Roxley Games and it’s so cool!  Simple to learn – you can literally explain how to play the base game in a few minutes – and super fun to play.  It’s pure strategy and reminds me of some of the best Reiner Knizia games in it’s elegance.

It’s ages 8+ and rated a whopping 8.3 on Board Game Geek!

The pieces are sturdy and feel good in hand and the art is beautiful.

The rules are simple:  1) Move 2) Build.  That’s it.  You win if you get one of your two builders to the third level.  That’s it.

It’s great for everyone from kids and classrooms to highly competitive gamers.  Add in the included God Powers to make the game even more interesting.

We just added a copy to our game library, so come in and check it out!
